Allow me to introduce to you, The Gold Dot Foundation (GDF). GDF is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, and was founded in 2021. GDF is named for my grandparents, J.Goldie and Dorothy (Dot) Hines (pictured).
The Hines family has it's roots in Brambleton (Norfolk, VA), us all hailing from Marshall Avenue. Three generations of my family are BTWHS alumni, and I am the last of that legacy.
My grandparents, as well as many in my family are tradespeople, and this foundation's mission to support students who wish to pursue a vocational education. What I have come to realize is that a 4 year traditional college education may not be for everyone, but everyone can learn something.
So I conceived the idea of this foundation with the mission to support students at my dear alma mater who wish to pursue vocational eduction.
